Check out our April 2019 Community Health Awareness for this month. Click on the "Community Health" above, and then Projects. Get your Chapter involved in raising awareness on Organ Donation! Alyssa is doing a fantastic job as our Community Health and Breakthrough to Nursing Director. If you have any questions on how you can involve your local Chapter please feel free to reach out - we are all here to help! Find us under the Board of Directors, any one of us would love to help get your Chapter going on a monthly health initiative.
Show up in support of another school SNA event and meet the following requirements, you could WIN! Get a group photo with one member of the Board from the visiting school - Submit 1 photo (per group) by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org AND share on Michigan Nursing Student Association facebook page to be considered! We are giving away 5 t-shirts to the first 5 to submit a photo! Be sure to give a brief description of the event! Giveaway ends on April 5th!

Throughout your time as a student nurse, you will inevitably be caring for patients who have Diabetes Mellitus. The CDC estimates that nearly 1 in 4 adults are living with this chronic disease. See the poster below to learn about the different types of diabetes and resources for more information.
HOUSE BILL No. 6287 was introduced in August of 2018 by Rep. Cochran and referred to the Committee on Regulatory Reform. This bill seeks to amend current legislation on indoor tanning and minors.

The Recovery Village is an organization with locations across the country, dedicated to helping those struggling with substance abuse into recovery. They are offering a $1,000 award to students pursuing a health-related degree program who have been personally affected by addiction. To enter, submit a short essay describing why you are passionate about substance use disorder and mental health treatment.
