In 1985, the movie “Back to the Future” showed a future where flat-screen wall mounted TVs, electronic tablets, video conferencing, and wearable technology were a part of every day life, even though none of those things existed at the time. In the same way, thirty years ago no one imagined a health care environment that included GPS tracking, scripts that “teach” nurses how to introduce themselves, and the dangers of posting too much information to Facebook.
Now that future exists and like maneuvering a flying hoverboard, nurses must learn how to navigate their workplaces. From the violation of workplace rights to infection prevention to the impact of technology on nurses’ practice, it’s time to fire up the DeLorean and make sure our present and our future benefit both patients and nurses. Join us on Thursday, October 1 at the Southfield Westin Detroit to gain workplace advocacy skills for your patients, yourself and the nursing profession. It’s time to make sure nursing’s voice is heard now and in the future. Visit the hyperlink in blue for more information on the event and registration. |
