SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY!! On behalf of NAHN-MI President, Mary Martinez-McCormick, FNP-BC, and the members of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses-Michigan Chapter (NAHN-MI), I am pleased to announce that our 2015 Scholarship Application is now available. This year we will be awarding four (4) $1000 scholarships to nursing students. The application due date is October 9th. We will be awarding the scholarships at our Annual Fall Gala on Friday, November 6, 2015. Please forward the scholarship to any Hispanic nursing students you know who are enrolled in a nursing program in Michigan or Ohio. See the attached application for specific criteria. We appreciate any and all assistance in "spreading the word". You may not be aware that Hispanic nurses only make up 3 - 3.6% of nurses in the United States. Our Association feels strongly that this number needs to increase as the US population of Hispanics is approximately 17% and growing.
